word - open separate window for each document

I have Office 2003 and when I use Word, I would like a separate window to
open for each document instead of them all showing up in Word as one window,
that I have to search through.

I see someone else had the same problem, Jennifer, but I don't see how it
was fixed?

Go to Tools > Options. Then under the View tab, make sure that Windows in
Taskbar is NOT selected. (the item at the top-right corner)

Check the box for "Windows in Taskbar" on the View tab of Tools | Options.

HURRAY YIPPEE ALLLLRIGHT - IT WORKS, IT WORKS, IT REALLY WORKS!
You cannot image how long I have been trying to get this to work - and Xero
said to "uncheck" that box. It was unchecked. I did as you said, I checked
the "Window in Taskbar" and now I have a separate window for each document!

Hi there,
I spotted your reply to this person's problem, and your fix works;
HOWEVER, that led me back to another problem I had, perhaps fixed by
unchecking "Windows in Taskbar", and that new (re-occurring) problem is that
when I have only one open Word document and go to clsoe it (and only it) the
whole program closes. AND THAT is really annoying. Any suggestions.
