word numbering

FIX WORD NUMBERING especially OUTLINE NUMBERING!!!

The product manager(s) at MS Word just need to get it in their heads that
they need to come up with a much better method to create complex documents
THAT WORKS (not like crap as it does now)!

I am using Word 2003 but have not heard that it has gotten any better.

Hi Ben,

You must be a OneNote person, not a Word person. But a good point
nonetheless.

Just read any of the following:
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html
"[If] You seem to go round and round in circles, and never end up with what
you want. And just when you get close, it falls to pieces.
You are not alone!"
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/NumberingExplained/NumberingInAction/OutlineLists.htm
"Outline- numbered list paragraphs will break pretty much every time you
close the document unless you happen to be a highly-skilled user such as a
technical writer who understands all the stuff you read here and bears it all
in mind every minute they work! If you do that, the numbering will break only
about half the time {grin}"

Anyway if the Microsoft Word execs do not know the problems discussed on the
myriad of sites it is probably useless to even post this.
