Word not in program list for registered file types

I am trying to open Word Perfect files in Word 2000 by
associating the "wpd" extension with Word, but Word does
not appear in the program list in the "file types"
window. Word is part of Office 2000 and works just
fine. Excel appears on the list. My OS is XP Home on a
Dell P4 Dimension 4400.
Any suggestions for adding Word to the program list.

Hi Fred,

You might try using START/Run. Type in: winword.exe /r
Activate OK. This should reregister Word on the system.
