Hi,
I have a problem where I'm linking from one word document to others that are hosted on various websites. An example site is: http://www.kent.ac.uk/equalityanddi...tdes%20doc2.doc
The document opens up without any problems, but when trying to close it, the app hangs. The only way to close it is to kill the process from the task manager although strangely enough, in the applications tab, there are two instances of the offending document as thought there should be a dialogue box, but there is nothing else visable. When killing the process, it can take up to five minutes for it to clear. If I copy the address into Internet Explorer, this works fine
We are using Windows XP SP2 with Office 2002 SP3 and McAffee V8 antivirus. To add to the confusion, there is no problems when using Word 2003 but as the standard here is 2002, I have to find a workaround.
Any ideas?
