Word Maximized Screen Problem

I'm having the same problem as a poster last week. When I maximize my Word
window, it's full width, but only about 3/4 height. The bottom of the Word
window is not visible, and I can't drag it up.

The only way to fix this is to go to the "Restore Down" button and then
manually drag the window to make it full screen. If I then go back to Full
Screen, it gets small again.

It's Office 2003 and I'm not experiencing this problem with any other
applications. Any ideas?

I have experienced the same issue. I'm not sure if you are using dual
screens, but for me that was the root of my problem. To fix it, I went to
the settings tab of the Display properties in Windows and turned off my
second monitor. Logged off and back on, then re-opened Word in a single
screen mode, and the full screen worked properly.

Afterward, I turned the second monitor back on, and things seem to be fine
again, for both screens.

So, in my case I am assuming it was some kind of discrepancy between the two
monitors resolutions, as one is LCD and the other CRT with differing optimal
resolutions.

Let me know if this helps.
