Word in Office 2000 will not opne

I have bene using it for a while, but recently downloaded updates. When I
try to open Word it starts to open, and bottom of screen looks normal. top
half only has title bar. If I click on it or try to close it says not
responding. I have followed the trouble shooting tips and running word.exe
/a does open it, but following the tips will not solve problem. I have
deleted and reinstalled with factory disk 3 times, with still the same
problem.

You can re-install the program an infinite number of times and it won't fix
the problem, because the problem is unconnected with the core program. The
problem is almost certainly attributable to a corrupt normal template or
data key in the registry - see

I had previously deleted HKEYS, the problem turned out to be a temp file.
cleared them and all is ok.
