Word has encountered a problem...

Hi,
I'm running Office 2002 SP3 with XP and each time I open Word I get the
message: 'Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close'

1. I have renamed the Normal.dot file
2. Removed the Data Key in the Registry
3. Updated printer driver (even removed the printer altogether)
4. Removed and reinstalled Office

And still the error comes up. Sometimes I can use Word for say 20 minutes
until the error reappears.
Word 7 is not installed on my PC, and no other version of Office was on it
at all.

It is not happening when I try to do anything in particular with the
application, just upon opening.

Any ideas would be grateful.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm, section 2. If
the /a switch stops the problem, then (since you've already eliminated
Normal.dot, the Data key, and the printer driver as possible causes) the
problem is an add-in. Besides the templates that might be stored in the
Startup folder, look for any other add-ins by using the advice in
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011514521033.aspx.
