Alright so this is going to sound pretty funny, but somehow in the four year
stretch of having this computer my Microsoft Word got deleted. The whole
office is totally gone. I still have my original Windows XP cd it came on but
it wount let me do a total system restore because the version i am running is
newer than the disk. Can someone PLEASE tell me there is a way i can get it
back without having to buy it. Thanks so much.

And when was the last time Microsoft Word or a MS Office
product was used in this computer? Applications just don't
disappear into thin air without good reason.

As for re-installing, Microsoft Office or any Office apps
are not present in the Windows XP cdrom. Each is its own
product. There should be a separate cdrom for Office. Was
Office originally bundled into the computer when it was
delivered? If it is still possible, try to obtain a copy
of Microsoft Word or Office from the original seller.

One should always own the cd for the apps they want to use. Time to go
shopping.

Microsoft Office has never been part of any version of the Windows Operating
System.
Microsoft Office is a separate product, and must be purchased and installed
separately from Windows.

Hi,

Click start/run, type winword.exe and click ok. What happens?

As noted by another, programs don't just disappear, they have to be
uninstalled. If Office came with your pc, then the manufacturer should have
provided some means of reinstalling it. Check your original supplied media.
