Some of my Word files are shown in blue color in Windows Explorer, while most
are shwon in black. I cannot find a difference. What am I missing?

Hi Mark,

Windows compresses 'infrequently used' files. The blue is to indicate which ones are stored in compressed forms. They're still
accessible in the same way the 'regular color' ones are, perhaps a bit slower to open the first time.
You can also setup your own compressed folders or files. This article and the links at the bottom have additional information that
may be helpful

Bob,

Thanks!

I checked "Yes" your post was helpful. Do you get notified of that kind of

Hi Mark,

Thank you for letting me know the information helped :) The voting and suggestion features are part of the MS Community Web client
that you're using through http://www.microsoft.com/communities/bkst_column_43.mspx

Some of us use the 'older' <g> newsgroup readers through MS Outlook Express or other products via news://msnews.microsoft.com so we
don't see the ratings, as such :)
