Word does not display insertions or comments

I

Ian

Using Word 2002 SP1.

Viewing a document that has been edited by someone else. Tracking
enabled. All changes/deletions are displayed, but insertions and
comments are not. A change bar appears alongside each insertion/comment,
but the inserted text is not distinguished in any way, and there is no
evidence of the comment itself.

What am I missing?

(The insertions and comments appear properly when the document is
displayed in Word 97).

Click on Tools | Options | Track Changes. In Track Changes options,
make sure the Insertions option is set to something other than "None"
(e.g., I have mine set to "Color only"), and the Color option is set to
something other than Auto or Black (e.g., I have mine set to "By author").

P.S.: Regarding displaying comments, in the same menu under Balloons,
check the "Use balloons in Print and Web Layout" box.

Thanks Garfield. Missed that one. (Although why anyone should want the
"None" option escapes me).
