There is nothing that will turn off your audience more than a bunch of words
in a PowerPoint show that you just read to them. You might as well just
make slides and show it up on an overhead projector! Create your
presentation with simple bulleted lines that outline the document and if it
is really needed to open put a button or image on your slide, right-click
the object and select "Action Settings", click the "Hyperlink to" dropdown
and select "Other file". Browse to and select your Word document. This way
it opens up Word, you can look it over as necessary, then close Word to
return to your slide show. One important thing about linking is if you need
to transport this presentation it is a good idea to put the Word document in
the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation. That way when you link it
you can move both files together to another folder, CD, etc., and the link
will always work.
