Word document starting on top line

My new word documents are suddenly starting on the very top line on the
screen. There used to be a margin at the top. How do I get it back?

funky little square with a black stripe across the center, click it. Threw
me off when it happened too.

I am having the same problem with the view of the screen but clicking on
the 'funky little square' has no effect.

Oddly, if I open an existing document the White Space is shown but clicking
on the funky square does NOT remove it, as I believe it should.

Any suggestions as to how to get this function to operate? I can't find the
equivalent of the old "Tools > Options > View, check the option for "White
space between pages" on the new ribbon.

ignore earlier post. Turns out the 'White Space' on/off function requires
'CTRL+CLICK', not just 'CLICK'!

Is this in Word 2007? This was a change that was requested from Word 2003
(because so many people hid the white space unintentionally and
inadvertently by clicking at an inopportune moment), and I'd be interested
to hear that it had been implemented.

If it's Word 2007, you have to hold the Ctrl key while you click --
and the tool tip tells you that.

To the extent that Word 2007 catches on (and I have my doubts at present),
this should reduce the number of "white space" questions, anyway.
