Word Document Displays WordPad icon

My word document is displayed with WordPad icon. Can anyone tell me how to
re-associate Microsoft Word icon for word document (.doc)?
 
Open a command prompt with administrator privileges. Run chkdsk C: /f (if C:
is where your O/S resides). Reboot to allow chkdsk to run. See if the
problem is resolved (I'll bet it is).
