Word Docs Unavailalble

I'm stumped. I've successfully(?) installed Word 2003 on
one of my machines. It works fine until I try to retrieve
a file. I can see the file from within word, but when I
try to open it, I get the error message that the file is
not available. This is true of every file I have tried to
open, including every one I have saved from within word.

Help, please?

Disable the Office Plug-in in Norton AntiVirus.
