word docs to excel

I have several word dcuments that I want to mass copy and paste into an excel
wrok sheet. Is there any way to do this?

Why?
Hyperlinks in Excel to each Word document would seem to be much more
efficient. Click the hyperlinked cell and the Word document opens.
