Word Doc with Graphics to Web Page

I have a word document with graphics that I want to insert on a page in our
church web site. Actually this is a Calendar template from Word created by
someone else.

I saved as html file and when I inserted, in Preview in FP (2000 with
XPHome), the graphics appear, but when published, they do not. How do I get
the graphics on the page to also be included? I figure I have to copy the
graphics to the web also but do not know where to put them so that they are
included. Can someone give me the exact procedure for getting this Calendar
..doc AND its inserted graphics to display on the web.... Thanks

You need also import the image along with the web page created by Word into the web.

There are several images. If I copy the images to the web folder, will the
htm automatically read them. Should the htm file and the images be in a
separate folder in the web so that the html file can read them?.... Millie

Where ever you place the html page in the web, I would place the images, then you can move them and
FP should upload the links.

You have to publish the images to the server. They are not embedded like
they are in a Word document.

Everything you see in a web page is a link to the file eg <href>, <src> etc
are "link" tags to images, hyperlinks to files etc.

No, as Thomas said - "import" them. In frontpage, with your calendar html
page open, go to File menu then to the "import" command, then choose the
files/folders you want to import. Click OK, then if necessary re-insert the
images manually one by one.

I was playing around with creating a liquid display using tables and % &
DWT. Then I wanted to add jpg of a gradient bar to use as separation between
title and main content. However, I ran into problems when viewed the screen
in smaller sizes in Prevew in Browser. Is there an easy way to add jpgs and
still maintain a liquid display or do you have to somehow test the size of
the screen and then use the appropriate size jpg?

Thanks for information.

You could try setting the width of the gradient to 100% - this works
with some .gifs, but it does distort the image. The distortion may be
acceptable with a gradient, but will not be if using a photo'.

Testing for screen size is a waste of time - I have a screen
resolution of 2560x1024, but use a browser opened to 800x600. You
have to check the size of the browser window (not the screen
resolution), but when you've done that it is too late to select the
correct image, since the page is downloaded. (Server-side scripting
can be used here, until the user resizes the browser window.)
Other users will have the browser full screen, but may also have a
side-bar open making the browser viewport smaller.
