word count

I am having problems accessing word count. Previously on
Windows 2000 it was available under tools. In Windows XP
it is not there when I click tools. I've worn myself out
trying to find it and failed miserable. I do a lot of
writing with word count parameters, so it is very
important that I find this puppy as soon as apossible.
Would someone please help me? Thank you.
 
Hi Doug,

If you are referring to Word in Office XP, click the Tools menu and then
double click on the tools menu to expand all of your options. Word Count
should be the third option down.

Alternatively, while in the typing area of the document you can press Alt+T
and then W and the word count will appear.
