Something simple, how do I display the word count so I can see it as I type.

Something simple, how do I display the word count so I can see it as

Go to Tools > Customize, click the Toolbars tab, and check the Word Count
item. That displays a small toolbar (floating by default, but dockable). It
doesn't automatically update as you type, but it's one click to make it
update when you need to.
