Word attachments in Outlook...

Mike

Our company sends out word docs for quotes that are attachments being sent
by outlook.
When they are opened, they open in Reading Layout view, which looks very
bad.
You can go up to View>Print Layout, which is how we'd like them to display.
Is there any way to make this a default view when saving the Word doc?

AFAIK, the way in which a document is opened is something over which only
the recipient has control via Tools>Options>General by checking or
unchecking the "Allow starting in reading layout view" box. I do not
believe that the originator/sender of the document has any control over it.

Hi Mike

There's no way you can control this: it's up to the user to determine
whether an attachment from Word opens in Reading Mode or not. You could, of
course, write a macro that runs when your document is open, and which
changes the View. And the user could just as easily choose not to run the
macro.

If you need to control how the quotes look, you might send the quote as a
PDF file.

Hope this helps.
