word attachments do not show text on screen

I occaisionally receive word doc's as attachment to email.

Docs supplied from one particular client download and save ok but when
called to screen show blank pages - if I print the blank pages from screen
the text prints out ok.

If the same doc is sent to another computer next to me it displays ok.

I realise this could be a problem with my MS word but why is it only
happening from one client? And how can I fix it.

Are you opening the attachments directly and viewing them in Reading Layout
view? This could affect the display. Also, if the pages are actually
graphics, make sure you're in Print Layout view with "Drawings" checked and
"Picture placeholders" not checked on the View tab of Tools | Options.
