word as editor for outlook 2003

Why is that!!
I am running Office 2003. When creating a new message with word as outlook
editor in HTML or rich the text in the body of the message is tiny (small).
This also occurs when replying to a message. The messages received however
are nornal size.
When the word editor is unticked in the options all returns back to normal
size but you lose the editing capabilities of word?
