Thanks for the supplemental information ... however:
1. the solution on this web page has to do with spelling problems
with Outlook Express ... I don't read that was the OP's probablem.
I'm resisting temptation to assume.
2. while I have no reason whatsoever to have any suspicion of the dll
file you suggest downloading, but how does one know that this is a
valid file and why should one just "download from the internet" a file
like this? Downloading from sources unknown to the downloader is
normally considered risky behaviour on the Internet and is a
discouraged activity (at least I discourage it). Getting this
Microsoft-compiled DLL file from a Microsoft web site would be
acceptable, as is getting it from the XP CD or c:\i386 folder (as your
web site suggests)--the source being known for all there of these files.
I'm just not sure I'm comfortable with this advice in an open forum
like this. Just my two bits, I guess.

Installation flaw. Simplest way probably is simply do a re-install.
Look carefully at the install options to ensure speling installing.
Spelling in 97 and XP should work fine.
