word 7 keeps multiple spacing even though I change it- ?

Hi,

I have placed a letterhead as a header. I then type or copy text from
another doc and paste into the new doc with the header but it keeps double
spacing the lines. This is even on freshly typed input. I have looked and
changed the paragraph settings to single but it keeps returning to the
multiple spacing format.

Is it a problem with he document style? I am new to 7 and need assistance in
how / what to try.

In addition to line spacing, have you also looked at Spacing Before and
After? You can find those options in the Paragraph group of the Page Layout
tab.
