Word 2007

The hour glass continues to alternate between the cursor and the hour glass
when I am using office 2007 Word. I have done the diagnostics check, snoozed
indexing, and went through Word repair. Even after all this even when I open
a blank document, the cursor alternates between the cursor and the hour
glass. As I type or perform any funtion the cursor alternates between the
cursor and the hour glass.

Any help to resolve?

Someone else reported the identical problem in a different newsgroup. Two
things to check:

1. Try starting Word using the /a switch (Start - winword.exe /a). Does the
problem still occur?

2. Try starting Word in safe mode (hold down the ctrl key as Word is
starting, then click Yes to starting in safe mode). Does the problem still
occur?

If the problem doesn't occur with either of those, then see the following

If Safe and/or the /a switch doesn't provide a temporary cure, then the next
step would be to create a new Windows user profile and see if the problem
occurs for the "new" user. It might be that your Windows user profile has
become corrupted in some way... and the only solution I've found for that is
to adopt a new user profile.
