Word 2007 won't hi-light text /can't get to solution in "WORD OPTI

I have been digging deep into many discussions on this problem and it seems I
am not the only one experiencing it. However, two potential solutions I have
seen both require me to go to Word Options and then go to other than the
default "popular". HOwever, "Popular" is the only one that opens. How do I
get to either Add-ins or Trust Center since I can't get there the
conventional way.

If you cannot access all the options, the probability is that the data key
in the registry is corrupt.
Locate and delete the following registry key (with Word closed)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
Then restart Word which will rebuild the key to defaults.

Excuse my ignorance, but how do I get to the registry and locate the key you
suggested? By the way, thank you for the response. I really appreicate it.

Sorry to have asked the last question as I just found my way to the registry
and your solution worked like magic! Can't thank you enough!
