Word 2007 watermark issue

I am trying to add a picture watermark to a document in Word 2007, and each
time I do, it appears to work perfectly and I have no problems until I
re-open the document at which time I get an error:

------------------------
The file <filename> cannot be opened because there are problems with the
contents.

Details: Unspecified error
Location: Part: /word/header.xml, Line: 2, Column: 2975
------------------------

At first I thought that the image may be too large because it was getting on
for 3MB but I compressed it to 600k and it still fails and does the same with
other images too.

It's not that urgent because not having a watermark isn't the end of the
world but if anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated

I don't know the answer, but ..

What type of picture file are you using?
What version of Word 2007 are you using - is it up to date? Office Button >
Word Options > Resources tab > what does it say under "about Microsoft
Office Word 2007"?

If you send me a copy of the file, I would like to take a look at it.

Hi Tony

I'm using MS Office Enterprise edition, running on Vista 64bit. I have
windows set to automatically update so as far as i'm aware its all up-to-date.

The version info says:
Microsoft Office Word 2007 (12.0.6514.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)

Thanks for your Help

I haven't seen or heard of any problem like this, but I don't have a Vista
64-bit system set up - maybe that's responsible.

Could you say what type of picture it is (sometimes Word doesn't seem to
like png files)?
