Word 2007 Spell Check Not Working

Re-formatted my computer and when I type something wrong in word 2007 the
spell check does not work. When I click on spell check I get a message "
cannot find proofing tools for English (US) If you have proofing tools try
installing or re-installing them"
Cannot find where proofing tools are. Can anyone help please
 
They are on the installation disks.

Tried installing from the CD but still does not work. Hide spelling and
grammar errors are checked in grey .Cannot un-check them as they don't show
in black
