Word 2007--How do you paginate a document?

John

Hello. Could somebody please give me clear instructions on how to paginate a
document in Word 2007. It has 21 pages and I would like the numbers to
appear in sequential order starting from page 1. Thank you for your
assistance.

For the very simplest application, double-click in the header or footer area
(wherever you want the page number). Position the insertion point where you
want the page number. Then use Header and Footer | Page Number | Current
Position | Plain Number. Or of course you can choose any of the fancy page
numbers or other building blocks (Header or Footer) that include page
numbers.

Suzanne:

Hello. Will inserting a number on one page create numbers on all pages?
Thanks.

So long as you don't just type a number, but Insert the Page Number as
Suzanne explained.

Thanks. And what if you don't want the number to appear on the first page?

Then you check the Different First Page box in the Options group; this gives
you a separate First Page Header/Footer that you leave blank.
