Word 2007 Font Style switches each time I hit Enter.

I want the Normal Style to be my default font style, but after selecting
Normal Style, I start typing, then when I get to the end of the line of text
I hit Enter, and the style selection switches over to some other style. This
is annoying because I have to manually select Normal Style after hitting my
Enter key. How can I make Normal Style my default and prevent it from
automatically switching to a different sytle?

It sounds as if some other style has been defined as the "Style for
following paragraph" of Normal style. See
