Word 2007 Bullets Spacing

B

Becky

Hello: My problem is more annoying than troublesome. When I am working in a
document and want to do a bulleted list the first list I do comes out fine!
All nice and neatly single spaced between bullets. However, when I go down to
a new page on the same document and start another bulleted list, this one
comes out double spaced. I have tried everything to get it go single space
like the first page's bulleted list, but to no avail. Can anyone help?
Thanks! Becky

Are you creating your bulleted list using a specific Style or by just
applying bullets as direct formatting on whatever Style is applied to the
text already? If the latter, then the spacing applied through the Style is
automatically be applied to the list; just adding bullets to text doesn't
change the spacing specified by the Style.

The recommended approach is to define a Style for bulleted lists and use
this Style in preference to adding bullets through direct formatting.
Alternatively, you can avoid the problem by ensuring that the Style applied
to the text of the list uses single spacing.

See fellow MVP Shauna Kelly's excellent site
(http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/) for more information on working with
Styles - especially the information on numbering and bullets.

Try one or all of these.

1. You probably done this but what the heck. Highlight the problem text and
go to "Paragraph." Down where it says spacing make sure its before and after
0 and single space.

2. Highlight the entire document, click the bullet button. This should
remove all of the bullets. Click the button again, it should put them back.

3. At the end of each note, hit delete until the next note comes up next to
it. This will make sure there are no extra spaces between the bulleted notes.

Thanks Michelle! I had the Single space, but not the "before and after" set
to zero! Did the trick!! Bless you for helping with this! Becky
