My Ribbon bar has disappeared. In fact, everything above the ruler is gone.

Any ideas how I can get it back?

(BTW - Outlook and Excel are still functioning normally.)

Does Ctrl+F1 bring the Ribbon back?

Suzanne,

I tried that to no avail. I've also tried every other CTL or ALT
combination I can think of.

I also tried reinstalling - just Word - over the existing install using both
the repair and the normal install options.

Thanks,

This is at least the second report of this problem. If you have the Send a
Smile add-in installed, use it to send a frown with a screen shot.

Suzanne,

This just got stranger. I now have everything back, but I'm not completely
sure how. I was trying to rearrange the window to get a better screen shot
(I literally had nothing above the ruler bar - not even a title bar.)
During this process, I accidentially right-clicked on the desktop - bringing
up the menu box. When I hit Escape to close that menu, everthing missing
from the open Word document reappeared. The change holds as I open existing
or new documents.

If it happens again, I'll be sure to get that screenshot uploaded.

Thanks for all your help.

FWIW, I experience something similar if I apply "Arrange All" to three or more
application (document) windows. There are definitely problems, but if MS can't
duplicate the behavior, it's difficult to get it fixed.

I found someone else who had the same problem and got a screenshot
(Cindy, check the private beta newsgroup for it).
That screenshot showed a Word with no titlebar, no QAT, no window frame,
no Office button and no ribbon at all.

Is that identical to what you saw?
