Word 2007 Beta 2

I am experiencing something within the new Word and wondered if anyone can
explain it to me?? (beta:12.0.4017.1006 - msu:12.0.4017.1003)
When i'm in editing the doc and using highlighters I get something wierd...
I click on a word to start selecting to highlight and the whole area
(background) turns blue. I click that again, it gets darker blue, and once
more even darker (can barely see the text). A fourth time clicking in the
shaded area and just the word I clicked on turns the background white, and
the rest (that's dark) turns to the lightest shade of blue again.
I notice that when this happens, it's only on the page (when multiple ages
are present) I'm working on...sometimes into the next page, but not the
entire document.
Any ideas as to what causes this?? Anyone else have this experience?? I'm
pretty knowledgable about microsoft products (been a beta tester for about 8
years now) but this is the first time i'm stumpped!! =)
Thanks!!

I don't see anything like that here. Office, and Word in particular, is a
bit harder on graphics hardware than most other programs. I suspect that
what you're seeing is an artifact of a hardware feature that Word 2007 is
using.

Out of curiosity, though, does the problem happen in all documents? Or just
that one?

If you reboot, does the problem persist?

What if you start Word in Safe Mode (hold down Ctrl as Word is starting,
then click Yes to starting in Safe mode)?

Thanks for your response!
Yes, it happens in many documents and can be reproduced..
I can eventually get everything back to normal, but takes some patience...lol.
I just wondered if I am alone in this or if anyone else has had this
experience...

They're still nailing down graphics issues, so, if you can please report the
issue to Microsoft, telling them what graphics card you're using, as well as
the drivers. For what it's worth, I'm finding many fewer graphics issues
when running Office 2007 under Vista RC1 than when running under Windows XP.
Even so, I understand that much progress has been made since Beta 2 was
released (way back in May), so it's possible that they've already resolved
that issue. I encourage you to download and apply the technical release
patch when it becomes available (which should be soon), and see if the
problem has been fixed.
