Word 2003 - Tabs showing as little dots on screen

When I enter a tab in my document, it shows ..... where the tab is. It also
prints the dots. How do I make this go away?
 
It looks as if you have a dot leader selected for your tab. Go to Format |
Tabs and deselect it. I hope this has been helpful to you.
