Hi,

I have a user with severe lag in windows 2003 when flicking between
windows.. i ahve narrowed it down to the adobe PDF add-in, and after
disabling it everythign works fine.

However, to make a PDF of a .doc as you usally do, right click -> make PDF
does not function due to the disabling of the add-in

Is there a way i can disable it in word.. but not when accessed outside of
word perhaps? at the moment i have given this user an application to enable
and disable the plugin..

this is a brand new machine, and these applications came preinstalled!

cheers very much

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Q2hyaXM=?=,

First thing I'd do is complain to Adobe... Their addins cause more problems,
and everyone seems to think Microsoft should solve the problem.

COM Addins can be set to load automatically or on demand. The setting is
stored in the Registry. You should be able to change the Registry setting for
the Addin, I should think. Then the user could call it up when it's required
using the Tools/COM Addins tool (you need to pull it out of
Tools/Customization/Commands, category Tools).

However, I don't know if the COM addin is designed to function in this manner.
Again, it would be better to discuss this with Adobe.
