word 2003 not deleting temp files

Word leaves behind file like this one ~WRL1710.tmp The file is there but word
never delete the TEMp file when the document is closed.
 
If the leftover files are located on a network share, then the
user probably doesn't have sufficient network permissions to
allow Word to delete files from the share.
