Word 2003: How can I reset File/New/Templates to appear as they d.

In Word 2003:
How can I reset File/New/Templates to appear as they did in older versions
of Word - where they immediately defaulted to our customised Templates Folder
- which is networked rather than contained in "C" drive. We have Company
Templates and to choose them through the Task Pane is a slower process than
that in older versions of Word.

Right-click on any Toolbar and select Customise
Under Commands, Categories, select All Commands.
Scroll down the commands list until you find FIleNewDIalog.
Drag and drop it onto a Toolbar.
Select or create a button face and add to the command (which will now show
as 'Other')
Then right-click on the button and select Default Style.

Thanks for that. After trying it I wondered how to get it from the toolbar
to the drop-down menu where it belongs. I found that if you click Tools
Customise and leave the window open yo can drag and drop the new button onto
the menu.
The original button can be deleted and the new one given the name &New. Then
everything looks as it should and behaves as it used to including the CTRL-N
keyboard shortcut.
I guess I now need to do that for all the other buttons that call up the
dreaded taskpane. Pity it's not an option to run in Ofice 200 compatability
mode.
