Word 2003 crashing PC

My PC, not just the application, is crashing when I am using MS Word 2003. I
have been writing on the same PC for two years, but the problem began about
two months ago. It was random at first, but now it is happening two or three
times on a daily basis. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. It has
happened when I was typing, not typing, adding borders, saving, etc. I have
made no adjustments to Word in during this time, nor have I downloaded any
updates. I am currently running Windows XP w/ SP2, MS Word 2003, 3ghz PIV,
with 768 MB of Ram.

Any suggestions, or is this an issue for tech support?

The Windows computer management event viewer may help you identify why your
PC crashed.

for Word trouble shooting, but random failures can be from a variety of
sources nothing to do with Word - eg hardware issues.
