Hello,
Since we're using WD2003, the Helpdesk keep receiving calls from users complaining that their fields are not updated automatically anymore; as it was the case with our previous version of Office: 97.
I had a look on TechNet and so, found some articles about the FILENAME field not being updated automatically (apparently this is by design), the option "Update Before print" and so on.
What I'm looking for is a clear decription that explains how Word 2003 handles fields update. Is it only done when pressing F9? Is there no way to update all fields automatically? I have a macro that update all fields at the document opening (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;832897) but it's not enough.
We have sonme dept. who made forms with fields that are send to the customers. Some fields in the header or body are updated when the customer fill in some area of the form, so all fields must be kept up to date at all time. Is there any way to achieve that?
Thanks a lot
thomas
