Word 2002

HELP I can not access any of my documents WHILE IN WORD.
Neither can I us "SAVE AS" The computer seems to lock UP, or can not
access my .doc files

I have even gone so far as to Totally erise and clear Word 2002, and
re-install with the origional CD

Problem persists.

Also in Microsoft Pictur IT... files (pictures can not be brought UP. The
little hour glass symbol comes up and program just sits there.
