Word 2002 not responding

I have a Dell 8250 with Windows XP. Recently I have had difficulty opening
Word 2002. Nothing happens for a quite a while and when I open the Windows
Task Manager I see that Word 2002 is not responding. Earlier I was able to
open it in a Safe Mode but that didn't work the last time. Any suggestions?
Would it help if I uninstalled Word 2002 and reinstalled it?

Thank you. I searched Microsoft for Word repair but apparently didn't word
my search correctly. I tried "system restore" going back a couple of months
and it helped but now I have completed "Detect and Repair". So far it seems
to work fine. Thanks again.

That would be the first thing to try, certainly.
