Word 2000

When using word on my laptop, when I press on the 'Caps Lock' button a number
one appears and when I type the letter 'b' the number 7 appears after the b.
I also noticed when I type the letter 'h' a number 4 appears after the h. Do
I have a virus or is there an option that I selected in Word causing this
problem???

You've pressed the NumLock or some other function key that allows you to use
these keys as a numeric keypad.

Hello, I checked the Number Lock and that was not the problem.

This is a setting on your laptop. Read the documentation that came with it.
