When opening Word 2000 there appear crisscross lines all over the paper just
like in graphic paper. Can anyone please help to get rid of them?

Open the Drawing toolbar. Click the Draw command, then Gridlines, uncheck
Show gridline on screen.

Hello Greg
Thanks for responding so quickly. Your suggestion made a lot of sense but
unfortunately didn't work. Is there anything else you can think of?

Hello Greg

Yes, it did work I forgot to reduce number of gridlines.
Thanks a million for your help.
With kind regards
Rita

If this problem occurs only when you open a new blank word document then it
sounds like the gridlines have been saved into your Normal.dot file in
Templates and you will need to fix this file.

To fix this you will need to have 'Prompt to save Normal template' ticked in
the Tools>Options>Save tab. and then do as Greg said before saving
