Graph lines in 2003

When I open a word 2003 document and view in "print layout" the background
looks like graph paper. Can anyone help me get rid of this please?

Display the Drawing toolbar. At the left end, click the Draw button and
choose Grid. Uncheck the box for "Display gridlines on screen".
