word 2000 on windows xxp pro

I can not get MSWord 2000 to install on a machine with Xp pro. I down-
loaded a trial copy of Office 2007 earlier. Tried to delete it but not sure
if its accessible to eliminate completely. The software is good as I just
installed it on another machine which is using Vista. I just have the
feeling that the two programs are not compatible.
HELP

I have XP Pro SP 2 and I installed my old Word 2000. This means that they
are compatible.
