word 2000 documents do not print correctly in windows xp

I upgraded my O/S from ME to XP Home. I installed Office 2000 after that. Now
when I print documents I created with Office 2000 on ME, the documents print
out with random lines in BOLD print, and the fonts are not right. I updated
office, but the print is still the same. I am sure this is an update issue,
but I am out of ideas.
 
And when you upgraded your OS, did you also upgrade your printer driver?
Likely, you need to. Try the mfr's website for the XP printer driver for
your model.

I'm sorry I didn't include that, but yes I upgraded all drivers, motherboard,
video, sm controller, audio, printer, also, upgraded dvd firmware.
