Won't Install - says I need a hard drive - sees none

HAve a dual hard drive Raptor 36 gig HDs non-raid setup. AMD 64 3500 939
socket Asus A8V MB. I can't get thru windows setup. Stops and says it
couldn't find any hard drive. Any Suggestions?

A8V or A8V Deluxe?

(The latter has a Promise SATA controller as well as the Via one. I believe
that you have to install drivers for the Promise controller if you're using
that, even if it is not used in a RAID configuration.)

In the Advanced menu, Onboard Devices in the BIOS setup, is the SATA boot
rom enabled?

Does the BIOS detect the drive?

I'm not sure whether the Via RAID drivers have to be installed to use the
onboard VT8237 controller in non-RAID. The manual is unclear on that, and I
went straight to RAID 0 on my A8V Deluxe. At a guess, though, you'll need to
install the Via drivers as well. (The business with F6 during the XP
install.)
