Won't go into Standby automatically after hotfix

I installed the latest fixes according to the Update site
for Win2k. After that, my computer will no longer
automatically enter Standy/Hibernate. The monitor will
still switch off, but the 'puter won't. What gives?

The problem is with KB835732.

Uninstall KB835732 and automatic Standy/Hibernate will work again.
Unfortunately, microsoft has yet to acknowledge this problem so you
get to choose between security holes and Standy/Hibernate failures.

That's interesting - would the same reasoning apply to that KB sitting in my
list? I can't reboot when in safe mode only, which is weird to say the
least.
