I recently noticed that neither IE 6 or Netscape 6 will
display animated gifs from the Web, either over my LAN
DSL connection or via modem. They will display them from
the local drive.
When I right-click to view the source code on Web pages
that contain the animated gifs, the images have been
deleted out of the code. When I look at the same pages on
another computer, the images are there in the code and
display fine. Other people look at the pages and can see
the gifs fine.
On my computer:
<tr>
<td height="60" colspan="2"></td>
</tr>
On another computer:
<tr>
<td height="60" colspan="2"><img
src="/lib/rcfinders/banner5.gif" alt="Free
Batteries/Batteries Included" width="468"
height="60" /></td>
</tr>
I have emptied the cache, deleted cookies and reset
history. I have reset all Internet settings (security,
programs, advanced) to default. I have created a new user
to test my user settings. I have opened the animated gifs
in Word and Powerpoint (from the hard drive). None of
these solved the problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
