Won't boot (Powersupply?)

Within the past few weeks, my PC has difficulty booting up.

When it would boot, I would receive a message during the posting that
overclocking failed please enter setup to reset defaults. (I have never
overclocked this machine)

Thinking there may be a heat issue, I opened the case and did a pretty good
cleaning.

Still won't boot up. When I press the power button, I powers up for 1 or 2
seconds then shuts down. I flip the power switch in the back of the PSU
then back again, same results, this can go on for 2-3 tried before a
successful boot up (still w/the overclock message)

Once up and running everything is fine. I have read that some PSU's and
Mobo's can sense if the PSU fan does not startup right away and shuts down.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Could be lots of things, but if you have a spare PSU to try, its easy to
hook it up as a test. If it's not the PSU, please supply more details!

Either your PSU or your motherboard is failing. The easiest thing to try is
to replace the PSU with a known working one of adequate power output and
seeif that fixes it. If not, you need a new motherboard.
