Wake On Lan requires the machine receive a "magic packet"
from either another workstation or a server. There isn't
a utility in XP Pro to wake up a remote machine - but a
web search should bring up quite a few utilities you can
use to wake up a machine.
If you've got an NT/2k/2003 server on the network there's
a plugin for Microsoft's Systems Management Server
that'll do the job.
